JEFFERSON CITY – Staff members at Johnson’s Shut-Ins State Park invite the public to the annual Halloween Happenings event at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 23. Participants are encouraged to dress as their favorite movie character, supernatural creature or in some other extravagant costume.
This fun-filled night will include host games, interpretive tables, costume judging and more. There will be an evening program around a campfire at 7:30 p.m. about Missouri’s most disgusting and vile creatures. The event will be held in front of the Black River Center.
Registration starts at 3:30 p.m. Participants should bring a flashlight for this exciting night.
- 3:30 p.m. – registration for hayrides and costume judging
- 4-6 p.m. – interpretive tables, games, hayrides and more
- 6 p.m. – costume judging
- 7:30 p.m. – evening campfire program
