Minutes of September 24, 2021
- Call to order for regular session: A regular session of the Sainte Genevieve County Health Department was called to order by Robert Bach on Monday, September 24, 2021at 4:04 PM at the Sainte Genevieve County health Department located at 115 Basler Dr., Sainte Genevieve, MO 63670.
- Roll Call: Board members answering the roll call were Robert Bach, Dr. Matthew Bosner, James Brochtrup, Carl Kinsky, and David Woods.
- Approval of agenda: Dr. Bosner made a motion to approve the agenda. This motion was seconded by Mr. Brochtrup and approved by the board members unanimously.
- Consent Agenda: A motion was made by Mr. Woods to approve the consent agenda, consisting of the minutes of the previous meeting, financial statements, and transactions by account. . This motion was seconded by James Brochtrup. The motion was passed unanimously.
- Director’s report: Health Department Administrator Jenny Mueller made her director’s report.
Covid: The vaccination rate for the county population over 12 years of age was 52.8% initiated, and 48.3% completed vaccination. The Health Department will continue offering the Moderna vaccine daily with one Thursday evening per month availability. There was no word on Moderna booster shots from the CDC. The CDC has authorized booster shots for the Pfizer vaccine for certain persons, but there has been no authorization from the state to administer the Pfizer booster. Ms. Mueller indicated there were 248 Covid cases for August, 188 to date for September.
Flu shots: The Health Department began flu shots for the public on September 125, 2021 and will hold a drive through flu shot clinic at the Ste. Genevieve firehouse on October 5, 2021 from 10 AM to 6 PM.
Internet: Ms. Mueller indicated problems with the installation of the Internet through Spectrum but indicated state personnel would shortly install a firewall.
Board training: Board training is scheduled for October 7, 2021.
Testing of employees: Ms. Mueller indicated weekly testing of employees not vaccinated as well as testing of employees who believe they may have been exposed to Covid or believe they are symptomatic has proceeded without any problems and no one so tested has been positive.
Education/Community Outreach: Ms. Mueller recounted education and communication outreach classes and programs provided by the Health Department.
- Next scheduled meeting: The next scheduled meeting of the Health Department Board is October 25, 2021, at 4:00 pm. The November and December meetings are tentatively scheduled for November 22, 2021, and December 20, 2021.
- Adjournment: A motion was made to adjourn the meeting by Dr. Matthew Bosner. The motion was seconded by James Brochtrup, and passed unanimously. The meeting was adjourned at 4:53 PM.
