Esther L. Chandler-Wampler

A funeral will be held Monday, October 11, 2021 for 96-year-old Esther L. Chandler-Wampler of Chester, Illinois, who passed away at 7 a.m., Thursday, October 7, 2021 at Three Springs Lodge Nursing Home in Chester, Illinois.

She was born November 3, 1924, the daughter of Treffie and Lily May (nee Giles) Wisdom who both preceded her in death.

Esther married James Clyde Chandler in 1942; he preceded her in death on August 18, 1986.

She then married Ancel Wampler June 17, 1990; he survives in De Soto, Missouri

She is also survived by a daughter: Wanda Hawkins Chester, Illinois; three grandchildren: Jimmy Chandler of Bremen, Ill., Jeff Hawkins of Antioch, Tenn., and    Chuck Hawkins of Antioch, Tenn.; three great grandchildren: Reese Chandler and Fallon and Damon Chandler; five step-children: Byron Wampler, Carol Hasty, Marilyn Green, Elaine Moore and Kenny Wampler; a daughter-in-law: Anita Chandler Chester, Ill.; four sisters: Dorothy Klise of Hannibal, Mo., Helen (Chester) Otte of Hannibal, Mo., Connie (Larry) Utterbach of Hannibal, Mo., and Shirley Wisdom of Columbus, Ohio; numerous half brothers and sisters of Hannibal, Mo.

He was also preceded in death by: an infant son: James E Chandler, a son: Jimmy Dale Chandler, a grandson: Bret (Toree) Chandler; six brothers; a sister; three half-brothers and a half-sister

She was a homemaker.

Esther was a member of Family Worship Center in Chester and also attended Apostolic Pentecostal Church.

Her faith in God remained strong throughout her life.

Visitation will be 9-11 a.m. Monday at the Pechacek Funeral Homes in Chester, Illinois.

A funeral for 96-year-old Esther L. Chandler-Wampler of Chester will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, October 11, 2021 at the Pechacek Funeral Homes in Chester, Illinois. The Rev. Phillip Keeton will officiate.

Interment will be at 3 p.m., Monday, October 11, 2021 in the Upper Indian Creek Cemetery in Bixby, Missouri.

Masks are required when entering the funeral home.
