A funeral will be held Saturday, October 9, 2021 for 87-year-old Marilyn T. Kassel of Saint Louis, Missouri who passed away Friday, October 1, 2021 at Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis, Mo.
She was born November 2, 1933 in Perryville, Mo., the daughter of Martin R. and Dorothy M. (Springer) Thompson.
She married Harry E. Kassel on July 5, 1952. He preceded her in death on February 26, 2004.
She is survived by two daughters: Michelle Kassel (Dan Elkins) and Lisa (Steve) Bailey; a daughter-in-law: Deborah Kassel; five grandchildren: Kristopher Kassel, Alysse Moore Calloway, Brittany Moore, Lauren (Joe) Palmer and Jill (Matthew) Rudolph and 12 great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her son Kent Kassel.
Marilyn worked with her husband as a bookkeeper in the automobile and real estate businesses. She loved playing golf and cards with her friends.
Marilyn loved her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Marilyn was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection in St. Louis, MO.
Visitation will be on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at 1:30 pm at the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection, 9907 Sappington Rd., St. Louis, Mo., with the funeral at 2:00 pm. The burial will follow at 4 p.m. at the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Perryville, Mo. with the Rev. David Gruenwald officiating both.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are preferred to the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection, St. Louis, Mo. or Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery, Perryville, Mo.
