A funeral will be held Thursday, October 7, 2021 for 79-year-old Jim M. Wilder of Sainte Genevieve who passed away Sunday, October 3, 2021 at St. Clare Health Center in Fenton, Mo.
He was born August 15, 1942 in St. Louis, Mo., the son of Leonard T. Wilder and Cecilia (O’Connell) Wilder, who both preceded him in death.
He married Jane (Schilly) Wilder June 16, 1962. She preceded him in death.
He is survived by a son: Jim Wilder of Chesterfield, Mo.; three daughters: Tina (Mike) Lurk of Sainte Genevieve, Mo., Lori (Tom) Basler of Ellisville, Mo., and Nancy (Tom) Oberle of Saint Louis, Mo.; 10 grandchildren: Brooke, Nicholas, Nathan, Jordan, Jessica, Ryan, Connor, Abram, Abby and Aidan; and a great grandson Emmett.
He was also preceded in death by a sister: Inez Long; a brother: Leonard “Corky” Wilder; and a grandson: Wade Michael Lurk.
He was a member of American Legion Post 150 and the Valle Athletic Club.
He served in the US Army with the 101st Airborne Division.
Jim was a lifelong outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He was a Valle Warriors life long fan.
Jim enjoyed spending time with his family and his dog Molly.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, October 6, 2021 and 8-9:45 a.m. Thursday, October 7, 2021 at the Basler Funeral Home in Sainte Genevieve, Mo.
A funeral for 79-year-old Jim M Wilder of Sainte Genevieve will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, October 7, 2021 at the Church of Ste. Genevieve. The Revs. Edward Nemeth Msgr. Michael Turek will co-officiate.
Burial will be at Valle Spring Cemetery in Sainte Genevieve, Mo. with graveside military services provided by VFW Post 2210.
