STE. GENEVIEVE – The Ste. Genevieve Community Services Forum will be conducting two drive-thru drug take-back events this month.
Drug take-back events allow people to safely and anonymously dispose of prescription drugs, such as opioids. With the opioid crisis impacting multiple aspects of many Americans’ lives, it takes a comprehensive approach to address this epidemic.
To encourage individuals to remove unwanted or expired drugs from their household, pharmacies, law enforcement agencies, and community organizations coordinate events to dispose of the prescription and over-the-counter medications using the proper procedures.
The drive-thru drug take back events will both take place 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, October 23 at the Bloomsdale Family Health Care Clinic parking lot in Bloomsdale and at the Ste. Genevieve Fire House in Ste. Genevieve.
Prescription and over-the-counter medications will be accepted in pill or liquid form. Also acceptable are pet medicines, EpiPens, needles, and supplements and vitamins.
This is a great opportunity to clean out the medicine cabinet!
