Gov declares October ‘Show Me Excellence’ Month

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – On September 29, Governor Mike Parson signed a proclamation declaring October as Show Me Excellence Month in the State of Missouri.  The Governor was joined by Operational Excellence Leaders from all state agencies for a presentation in his office.

“Our Cabinet is committed to making real change in state government,” said Governor Mike Parson. “As a state government, we must always look for ways to do better than we’ve done before, and Show Me Excellence Month is about all of our team members working together to find new and improved ways to serve Missourians.”

“Show Me Excellence Month and our virtual Show Me Excellence Summit is another opportunity for us to accelerate change to ensure that our team members are equipped with best in class tools, training, and insight to improve state government efficiency and effectiveness,” said State of Missouri Director of Operational Excellence Cindy Dixon.  “Our focus is on training state team members with basic problem solving tools so that they are able to more effectively fix problems right where they are.”

Multiple training opportunities are available to state team members beginning on Monday, October 4th when Mike Figliuolo, Managing Director of thought LEADERS LLC, one of the most viewed trainers on LinkedIn Learning, joins Aaron Dimmock, Deputy Director of Operational Excellence in a Fireside Chat called, ‘Leading Others through Our Influence’.

The highlight of Show Me Excellence Month is the Virtual Show Me Excellence Summit on October 19th.  Themed, “Achieving Excellence Together”, the Show Me Excellence Summit brings together team members from the State’s 16 executive departments, private-sector partners, and state government continuous improvement experts from across the nation.
