CHESTER – The City of Chester announced Friday dates and changes for the 2023 Fall Festival. This year’s weekend of Family, Friends and Fun will be held October 20-22.
The City has been informed it will no longer be allowed to use an area that was key to our set up and allowed us the ability to provide numerous carnival rides, free events and activities, food and craft vendors and band stands.
“After learning of this unfortunate circumstance, we needed to make a decision,” a city official stated.
“Would we eliminate free events and activities for the kids, eliminate the Kid Zone and Bounce Houses, cut down on the number of rides, as well as, drastically limit food vendors and reduce or eliminate craft/artisan/market vendors and more.”
The decision was made.
“We will be moving the 2023 Fall Festival to Cole Memorial Park,” the official stated in a news release. “We will be providing shuttles in the park, shuttles to the park and there will be parking in the park. We will continue to have food vendors, beverage vendors, artisan/craft/market vendors, carnival rides, games, contests, activities, bands, and places for you sit and visit with your family and friends.
Please understand we are moving positively forward and hope you will join us in doing so. Changing the venue will not affect the spirit of the event or alter the atmosphere of it. We plan to continue with the spirit of it Feels like Coming Home to Family, Friends and Fun.”
