Glennon Wibbenmeyer

A funeral will be held Wednesday, December 29, 2021 for 85-year-old Glennon Wibbenmeyer of Perryville, Missouri who passed away Monday, December 20, 2021 at the Independence Care Center in Perryville.

 

He was born September 15, 1936 in Friedheim, Mo. the son of Edmond and Clara (Renner) Wibbenmeyer, who both preceded him in death.

 

He married Dorothy (Gibbar) Wibbenmeyer November 12, 1960 at St. Mary of the Barrens Catholic Church. She preceded him in death.

 

He is survived by three daughters: Christina (Greg) Erwin of Friedheim Mo., Cynthia (Scott) Liebenguth of Willard, Mo. and Sara (Jared) Prost of Leavenworth, Kan.; two brothers: Eugene (Rita) Wibbenmeyer of St. Louis, Mo. and Robert (Patty) Wibbenmeyer of Perryville; a sister: Shirleen (Robert) King of Fenton, Mo.; eight grandchildren: Ashley Schaeffer, Jeff Erwin, Virginia Erwin, Andy Liebenguth, Miley Liebenguth, Sam Liebenguth, Carter Prost and Gavin Prost; and great-grandchildren Daniel and Dean Schaeffer.

 

He was also preceded in death by a son: Keith Wibbenmeyer; a granddaughter: Elly Liebenguth; and a sister: Marlene Haley.

 

He was a maintenance supervisor at Gilster MaryLee.

 

Glennon served in the National Guard.

 

He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus Council No. 1263, and the Capaha Antique Car Club of Cape Girardeau, Mo.

 

Visitation will be from 7-9:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at Ford and Young Funeral Home in Perryville.

 

A funeral mass for 85-year-old Glennon Wibbenmeyer of Perryville will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Perryville with the Rev. Ben Melaku C.M. officiating.

 

Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Perryville.

 

Memorial contributions may be given to St. Vincent de Paul Catholic School Systems.
