Missouri Department of Social Services to host a High School Career Day next month

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – For the second year in a row, the Missouri Department of Social Services (DSS) will host a High School Career Day on Friday, April 12, 2024. The event will be held at the Harry S. Truman Building in Jefferson City from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

While many high school students will advance their education through a university, community college, or trade school, we recognize that many will head straight to the workforce. DSS offers a wide array of career paths that do not require a college degree, and we strive at any opportunity to expand our team and showcase the incredibly important work that they do.

“I am excited for the opportunity to share our department’s work to this next generation,” said DSS Director Robert Knodell, “Even if one student finds something that piques their interest, I would call this event a win.”

Last spring, 82 students from 10 Missouri schools registered to attend the event.

DSS Recruitment Coordinator Courtney Hall said, “We hope that this year will be bigger and better. If you have a student who is interested in public service please encourage them to register!”
