STE. GENEVIEVE – The Ste. Genevieve Board of Alderman gave first round approval to a rezoning of the northwestern corner of 175 Coyne Street at its meeting last night.
The owner of the property requested the rezoning from single family residential to general commercial district.
The rezoning had been previously recommended for approval by the Planning and Zoning Commission.
Prior to last night’s vote the aldermen conducted a public hearing on the request.
The rezoning will come before the board of aldermen for a second vote at the next meeting, Thursday, November 18 as the board will not be meeting on November 11th, which is Veterans Day.
In other business at last night’s meeting:
The aldermen gave final approval to the lease purchase of two cars for the police department.
The aldermen approved several items on the consent agenda:
A liquor license for the new owners of the Old Brick House restaurant.
The appointment of Kristi Cleghorn to the Board of Adjustment.
The appointment of Thomas Hooper to the Heritage Commission.
The purchase of new computer equipment for city hall and police department.
An application for state grant to hold a historic preservation workshop.
The replacing of the burglar and fire alarms at the welcome center.
Following the regular session, the aldermen met in a work session to discuss city hall building committee/engineer, stormwater, and streets for asphalt bid.
