STE. GENEVIEVE – The Sainte Genevieve Art Guild is inviting county quilters to show their work at a special quilt show and sale during Jour de Fete weekend.
According to quilt show Chairperson Juanita Wyman the call for quilts is still open. Both new and historic quilts made by county residents are being sought for the two-day show and sale.
“We want to give quilters from all over the county a chance to share their quilts and quilts made by their mothers and grandmothers,” Wyman said. “They can be loaned for display only or submitted for sale.”
Wyman said details are included in the application form which is available
at the Guild Art Center (310 Merchant) on Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 3pm and daily during regular hours at the Welcome Center at Market and Main. A form and more information is also available on the Guild website, artstegen.org. Applications must be returned by July 29.
The quilt show and sale will include information about the history and traditions associated with the art of quilting and examples of antique quilts. In addition a fiber art exhibit and other special programming are planned at the Art Center.
