Prairie Du Rocher man hurt in St. Louis County traffic crash

JEFFERSON CITY — A 22-year-old man from Prairie du Rocher, Illinois was one of two persons injured in a traffic crash Monday morning in St. Louis County in Missouri.

 

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol the man was the driver of a 2012 Ford F250 Superduty which was struck by a black SUV which left the scene after the accident.

 

The patrol says the Prairie du Rocher man was taken to Mercy Hospital South for treatment of minor injuries. A passenger in the man’s truck, a 60-year-old man from Stepping, Illinois, had serious injuries. He was also taken to Mercy Hospital South.

 

According to the accident report, the F250 was eastbound on I-255 when it was struck in the left rear causing the truck to travel off the left side of the roadway and strike the concrete median barrier twice.

 

The crash happened about 8:10 a.m. at Highway 231.

 

The truck had extensive damage and was towed to Miner’s Towing.

 

The patrol says both occupants of the truck were buckled up.
