A funeral will be held Friday, March 7, 2025 for 83-year-old Rita Buchheit of Ste. Genevieve, Mo. who passed away Saturday, March 1, 2025 at Ste. Genevieve Care Center in Sainte Genevieve, Mo.
She was born November 9, 1941 in Ste. Genevieve, Mo.
She is survived by a son: Curt Buchheit of Cape Girardeau, Mo.; a daughter: Sue Buchheit (Phil Rizzio) of Las Vegas, Nev.; grandchildren: Allison, Sydney, Kate Marie; Seth, and Eras; great grandchildren: Elora, Scarlett, Amelia, and Daemon Cole.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Stanislaus Buchheit; father: August Ringwald; mother: Hilda (Joggerst) Ringwald; brother: Matt Ringwald; and a sister-in-law: Virginia Ringwald.
She was a member of the Parish Quilting Society. Rita worked in the Valle School Cafeteria for over 20 years, and she loved to garden, cook, bake, quilt, and spend time with her children and grandchildren.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday, March 6, 2025 and 9-11:15 a.m. Friday, March 7, 2025 at the Basler Funeral Home in Sainte Genevieve, Mo.
Service will be at Church of Ste. Genevieve on Friday, March 7, 2025 at 11:30 am
The clergy will be Rev. Jacob Wessel
Burial will be at Valle Spring Cemetery in Sainte Genevieve, Mo.
