Poplar Bluff Man sentenced to serve 10 years in federal prison on drug and firearm related charges

CAPE GIRARDEAU – The United States Attorney’s Office announced that 27-year-old Samuel D. Moore of Poplar Bluff has been sentenced to serve 120 months (10 years) in federal prison after pleading guilty to drug-trafficking and firearm related charges.   Moore appeared for his sentencing hearing Thursday before United States District Judge Stephen N. U.S. Forest Service reports Mark Twain Forest fires were contained Thursday morning

ROLLA – As of Thursday morning, the Beason Hollow Fire and the Barn Log fires have been contained and are now being monitored by firefighters on the ground. Some smoke from the interior of the fires’ footprint may be visible today, but conditions are favorable to maintain containment and reinforce the lines around the fires.
