A funeral will be held Monday, May 8, 2023 for 92-year-old James R. Donovan of Sainte Genevieve, Mo. who passed away Saturday, April 29, 2023 at Riverview At The Park in Sainte Genevieve, Mo.
He was born July 2, 1930 in Sainte Genevieve, Mo.
He married Betty (Roth) Donovan June 3, 1950.
He is survived by: a daughter: Carol (Edwin) Bollinger of Sainte Genevieve; two sons: Robert (Colleen) Donovan of Sainte Genevieve, and Richard (Sandra) Donovan of Sainte Genevieve; a son-in-law: Felix Meyer of Sainte Genevieve; nine grandchildren: Eric, Dean, Roxanne, Casey, Renee, Brian, Kimberly, Justin and Sheila; 25 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife: Betty E. Donovan; daughter: Janet M. Meyer; his father: James W. Donovan; his mother: Preshey N. (Arnette) Donovan and a brother: Joe Donovan.
Jim enjoyed plowing gardens for people, visiting with friends and working at the car wash for 28 years.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Sunday and 8-9:45 a.m. Monday at the Basler Funeral Home in Sainte Genevieve.
A funeral for 92-year-old James R. Donovan will be held at Church of Ste. Genevieve on Monday, May 8, 2023 at 10 a.m.The Rev. Mitchell Baer will officiate.
Burial will be at Valle Spring Cemetery in Sainte Genevieve, Mo.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
