Jaysukhlal was born in India and stayed there till he was 9 years old. In 1942, he traveled to Ndola, Zambia with his mom to stay with his uncle. He spent time studying and working before he enlisted in the Zambian Army when he turned 18. While in the army Jaysukhlal drove the armored trucks and he never got into a single accident in the army or during his personal life. In 1959, he married his wife Kamooben in Ndola, Zambia, and they had 5 beautiful children together. Jaysukhlal was strict and particular and was a picky eater when it came to food. He enjoyed going to the movies with his young kids, and tending to his various fruit gardens back in Africa. He was an avid watcher of cricket and enjoyed the occasional cigarette. Jaysukhlal used to own a store and sold breakfast to workers in the area, clothing and food. His favorite thing was to sell fresh buns everyday to those working hard in the neighborhood. He was an honest man who always donated without needing any recognition. He was independent in his ways and cared for a plant as much as a human. Jaysukhlal will be dearly missed by his friends and family.
