CHESTER – Volunteers unload, sort, and distribute food items donated by the St. Louis Area Food Bank recently at the monthly Chester Area Christian Food Pantry Mobile Market.
It was another cold, damp, cloudy, breezy day for the March food giveaway, but loyal volunteers braced the weather to serve 96 vouchers.
Some of the food items provided included Bags of fresh vegetables. Smoke Sausages, Birds Eye Frozen Vegetable packs, Red Baron Frozen Pizzas, vegetable poppers, frozen sausage gravy packages, Pop Tarts, Chicken strips, Ice Cream, chicken fried rice, and Iced Coffee,
Don Berry and Steve Herrell of Chester sort and bag packages of Sausage to be given away at the March 2023 Mobile Market sponsored by the Chester Area Christian Food Pantry.
The event served approximately 96 vouchers that arrived in 50 automobiles on a cloudy, cold, spring morning. Both Berry and Herrell have been regular and loyal volunteers at the Mobile Markets for many years.
The next Mobile Market will take place Wednesday April 26 at 8:15 a.m. at the Cohen Recreation Complex in Chester.
