6th Annual Polar Plunge set for Saturday, March 4

STE. GENEVIEVE – The sixth annual Ste. Genevieve County Polar Plunge will be held Saturday, March 4, 2023, at the Lake Forest Estates Marina.

The event is hosted by the Ste. Genevieve High School FRIENDS organization, and all proceeds sponsor Ste. Genevieve R-II athletes with developmental disabilities to the Missouri State Games of Special Olympics, as well as other inclusion events, such as Jellybeans and Unified Sports.

The theme this year is Survivor, inspired by the hit show!

Registration for teams will begin at noon, with participants taking the “plunge” at 2 p.m. Sponsors will have their names included on the event’s t-shirt!

Sponsorship will be listed according to donations:

  • Gold Sponsors: $500+
  • Silver Sponsors: $250-$499
  • Bronze Sponsors: $100-$249
  •

Daniel Burnett with the West County EMS & Fire will offer cold water rescue, a service he has been kind enough to provide for the last two years’ events. There will be tours of emergency vehicles available for kids.

Belle on Wheels and Holy Grounds Coffee will be there to serve food and beverages! Hill and Dale Garden Club will be selling S’more Kits during the event, as well.

Heated changing tents will be provided by Cotton’s Ace Hardware and Marzuco Electric, and these tents will be available for all participants.

Those interested in participating, sponsoring, contributing or volunteering can contact Kyle Schweiss at krschweiss@sgdragons.org or Kristi Cleghorn at kcleghorn@sgdragons.org. We hope to see you there!
