Boys’ Basketball

 

STE GENEVIEVE — Ste. Genevieve’s game in the finals of the MAAA Conference Tournament

Saturday was suspended when Dragon Ricky Hunter collapsed on the court. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment and was expected to be discharged Sunday according to media reports. There’s no word on when or if the game will resume.

 

Ste. Genevieve advanced to the championship game with a 67-46 victory over Potosi Friday.

 

Ste. Genevieve’s next scheduled game Tuesday at West County at 7:30.

 

CHESTER – Chester won both games with Sparta Friday night; the junior varsity won 47-42 and the varsity won 48-38.

 

On Saturday, Chester lost to Fairfield 38-35.

 

Chester hosts Wesclin Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.

 

PERRYVILLE – St. Vincent defeated Grandview 67-44. St. Vincent led 10-9 after the first quarter, Grandview led 21-16 at the half and St. Vincent led 43-31 after three. St. Vincent outscored Grandview 24-13 in the fourth quarter for the final margin.

 

Blake Monier had 18, Dylan DeWilde and Grant Abernathy each had 12, Jacob Schremp had nine, Payton Strattman had six, Max Wheeler and Simon Unterreiner each had four, and Dane Klein had two.

 

The varsity improves to 13-10 on the year 4-1 in the small school JCAA Conference. St. Vincent and Jefferson are co-champions of the JCAA Conference small schools division.

 

The junior varsity Indians won 63-36 to improve to 17-4 on the season. The finished the conference season with a 5-0 record and won the conference crown.

 

Wyatt Winkler had 21 points, Parker Ellis had 19, Max Wheeler 16, Boston Tarillion had three, Jack Patrick and Collin Wheeler each had two.

 

The Indians freshmen lost to Grandview 31-23.

 

Wyatt Winkler led the freshmen with seven points, Jack Patrick had six, Matt had four, Gage Barnes and Tyler Hennemann had two, Sam Koishor and Jacob Seabaugh each had one.

 

St. Vincent plays junior varsity and varsity games at Fredericktown tonight.

 

St. Vincent’s freshmen are 3-2 on the year and play host to Saxony Lutheran Wednesday at 7 p.m.

 

 

JACKSON – Saxony Lutheran plays Twin Rivers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

 

PERRYVILLE – Perryville hosts Windsor for ninth grade, junior varsity and varsity games starting at 4:30 Tuesday.

 

STE. GENEVIEVE – Valle plays at North County Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.

STE. GENEVIEVE – Valle Catholic plays St. Pius X tonight.

 

JACKSON – Saxony Lutheran plays Jackson tonight at 6.

PERRYVILLE – Perryville hosts Fredericktown for junior varsity and varsity game beginning at 5:30 p.m. Monday.

ST. CLAIR, Mo. — Ste. Genevieve’s girl’s came in second in the Class 1 District 1 meet held at St. Clair Saturday.

 

 

Ste. Genevieve had 103 points to finish behind first place St. Clair who won the Class 1 District 1 title with 149 points. Sullivan was third with 100 points.
