Bloomsdale woman escapes injury in I-55 crash in St. Louis Co.

JEFFERSON CITY — A 63-year-old Bloomsdale woman escaped injury in a traffic crash on I-55 in St. Louis County Monday morning.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says Debra C. Sevier was the driver of a northbound 2021 Toyota Highlander which slowed and then stopped for traffic and was struck in the rear by a northbound 2005 Ford Focus driven by 33-year-old Ashley R. Fortune of Arnold, who sustained minor injuries and was taken to Mercy Hospital South by the Mehlville Ambulance District.

The patrol says both drivers were buckled up.

The crash happened about 6:45 a.m. south of I-270.

The Focus was a total loss, while the Highlander had minor damage. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
