Number of new COVID 19 cases drops 249 in Missouri

JEFFERSON CITY – The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services reports 4,084 new cases of COVID-19 in Missouri as of Sunday. That’s 249 fewer, or a 5.7 percent drop from the previous week’s 4,333 new cases of COVID 19.

 

Locally:

 

There were fewer than 10 new cases of COVID-19 in Ste. Genevieve County compared to fewer than 10  the previous week. That is 45 cases per 100,000 population.

 

There were 12 new cases in Perry County compared to 22 the previous week. That is 63 per 100,000 population.

 

Bollinger County had fewer than 10 new cases, compared to fewer than 10 the previous week. That is 41.3 per 100,000 population.

 

St. Francois County had 55  new cases. compared to 56 last week.. That’s 84 per 100,000 population.

 

Cape Girardeau had 5456 new cases compared to 56 the previous week. That’s 68 per 100,000 population.

 

Jefferson County had 182 new cases compared with 178 new cases the previous week. That’s 80.3 per 100,000 population.

Locally Ste. Genevieve, St. Francois and Jefferson Counties were in the medium community level. In counties at the Medium Community Level, persons who are elderly or immuno-compromised (at risk of severe outcomes) are advised to wear a mask in indoor public places or avoid indoor public meetings. They should also get up to date on COVID-19 vaccines or get their bivalent booster, if eligible.

 

Perry, Bollinger and Cape Girardeau Counties are at the low community level.
