This year the Lady Jackets have only one senior and Aubrie Medford is the lone golfer on the CHS Girls’ Team to be honored.  In the triangular match for “Senior Day” Medford stepped up to the task of ending her high school home course career by winning the match and tying her personal-best (PR) record of 41 strokes.

Throughout the 2022 season, Medford’s final season as a high school golfer, Medford maintained either the No.1 or No.2 position on the Lady Jacket Golf Team.

She ended her 2022 Cahokia Conference “regular-season” last Thursday September 22 by winning the Conference Tournament with a score of 81 strokes for the 18-hole tournament.  In the process she not only earned the title of 2022 Cahokia Conference Champion, but she was named to the 2022 Cahokia Conference All-Tournament Team.

Aubrie Medford finishes her 9th hole at the “2022 Senior Day” triangular match with Red Bud and Trico.  Medford’s win with her score of 40 strokes was “bitter-sweet” as it was her final home match of her high school golf career.  The look on Medford’s face demonstrates her relief that the match is completed and satisfaction in her performance in tying her previous personal-best (PR) of 40 stokes for a 9-hole match.  Jim Beers Photo

On her “Senior Day” triangular match, Medford led her team to a win over the Trico Lady Pioneers, 198-201.  The Jackets lost a slim six-point match against the Red Bud Lady Pioneers, 192-198.

Head Coach Meg Schnoeker said, “We will miss Aubrie next year, but I’m excited to see what she does after this season!”

For the 9-hole “Senior Day” match, Red Bud won with a score of 192, Chester was runner-up with a score of 198, and Trico placed 3rd with a score of 201. Just six strokes separated Red Bud and Chester, and just three strokes separated Chester and Trico.  Nine points separated the winner Red Bud and the 3rd Place finisher, Trico.

Aubrie Medford won medalist honors with her low score of 40 strokes.  She led all golfers in the triangular match.
