Edith Corine Koch, 84, of Benton, Illinois, formerly of Chester, Illinois, passed away at 5:30 am, Saturday, August 13, 2022 at Stonebridge Senior Living and Rehabilitation Center in Benton, Illinois after a lengthy battle with cancer.
She was born to the late Otis W. and Elizabeth Christine (nee Bowen) Falkenberry on October 23, 1937 in rural Ava, Illinois.
Edith married Leland Koch on May 22, 1965 in Chicago, Illinois; he preceded her in death on March 5, 2016.
After graduating from Trico High School, she entered nursing school at Missouri Baptist Hospital. She earned her registered nurses license and began a career which took her to various points in the United States, following her husband’s Coast Guard assignments.
She was a member of St, John Lutheran Church in Chester. Edith was a sweet and hardworking woman.
