American Melody visits Chester

CHESTER – The American Cruise Line’s “American Melody” docked at the Chester Mississippi Riverfront Tuesday, giving passengers a chance to tour the famous home of Popeye creator Elsie Segar.

Passengers board one of four American Cruise Line’s Motor Coaches during the morning of Tuesday June 21 at the Chester Riverfront.  Guests from the American Melody Cruise Ship had the opportunity to tour various locations in Chester to shop, eat and sight see throughout the morning.  The motor coaches made regular stops along the way to allow guests to get off the coach and get up close and personal with the numerous shops and citizens of Chester.

A side view of the luxury cruise ship “American Melody”.  This ship is a member of the American Cruise Line’s fleet and docked in Chester with 138 guests on board.  The cruise originated in New Orleans and will stop again in St. Louis before traveling to its final destination in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

The American Melody Cruise Ship of the American Cruise Lines arrived and docked at the Chester River Front Monday June 20 at approximately 6:30 p.m. and remained until Tuesday June 21.  Passengers had the opportunity to tour various Chester locations throughout the morning of June 21 via American Cruise Lines Motor Coaches.  Chester Tour Guides led informative lectures while ship guests were touring on the motor coaches with brief stops for shopping in-between.
