A message about Ste. Genevieve County Memorial Hospital from Dr. Steve Pautler, SGCMH CEO

STE. GENEVIEVE, Mo. – For the past two years, Ste. Genevieve County Memorial Hospital (SGCMH) has adjusted to a viral pandemic unprecedented in our lifetimes.  In many ways, we have renewed our sense of mission and commitments as to how we will carry it out – “We put people first by providing excellent, personalized, and compassionate healthcare.”

The COVID pandemic has brought constant changes to us from how we understand how the virus affects people, how to protect patients and staff, and the regulatory guidance we follow.  Our decisions about COVID response are focused on three key priorities: protecting patients and our community; protecting the safety and rights of our workforce; and protecting our organization’s ability to provide all the care needed for our community. Every administrative decision is tested against these priorities.

SGCMH was founded to provide hospital and related acute care services including Surgery Services, Emergency Room, and the beautiful new Med/Surg patient care unit led by our new Chief Nursing Officer, Jennifer McBride Hobbs, RN.

Our Nursing Services are 24-hour units that are constantly improving nursing training, quality and attention to patient needs.

We’ve added new Hospitalist physician services for 24-hour immediate availability.  New Diagnostic Imaging equipment that includes MRI and CT scanners for your provider’s best possible clinical information.  Lab now has the ability to test for virus or bacteria in as little as an hour.

Supporting your Best Health areas includes clinics, genetics testing and counseling, and preventive care services.

We’ve added physician services in Orthopedics, OB-GYN and Podiatric medicines, and will soon be bringing new Internal Medicine, Family Practice and more OB-GYN physicians.

We’ll continue to grow supportive services like Wound Care, Diabetes, and Bone Health.  Restorative Care is a growing area that includes Home Health, outpatient therapies, and extended care Transitional Care/Swing Bed services.

Our Advanced Home Care with Anne Wolk, an experienced and caring Nurse Practitioner, goes beyond every other health care provider in our region.

Being one system as hospital, clinic and rehabilitation means we can keep a “whole person” approach to care.  Our community looks to us for hope, health, and comfort.  Our work continues every day, in every place we provide care, towards Becoming America’s Best Rural Healthcare!
