JEFFERSON CITY — A 15-year-old Jackson boy suffered serious injuries Sunday afternoon in a traffic crash on I-55 in Ste. Genevieve County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the boy was taken to St. Louis Children’s Hospital by an Air Evac helicopter.
The patrol says the boy was the driver of a northbound 2007 Nissan Sentra which ran off the roadway and overturned, ejecting him.
The patrol says the boy was not wearing his safety belt.
The crash happened about 1:21 p.m. north of Route Z.
The Sentra was a total loss.
