A funeral will be held Saturday, December 4, 2021 for 97-year-old Edward R. Gadell of Hillsboro, Mo. who passed away Thursday, November 25, 2021 at Manor Groves Nursing Home in St. Louis, Mo.
He was born March 24, 1924 in River aux Vases, Mo., the son of Henry L. Gadell and Sophia (Kreitler) Gadell, who both preceded him in death.
He is survived by a son: Randy (Kathy) Gadell of Fenton, Mo.; a sister-in-law: Mary Gadell of River aux Vases; two grandchildren: Joe Gadell and Katie (Gadell) Steht and five great-grandchildren: Maeve, Lucy, Bret, Gwennie, and Blaine.
He was also preceded in death by two sisters: Katherine Gadell and Bernice Arnold; and six brothers: John Gadell, Arthur Gadell, Fridolin Gadell, Henry G. Gadell, Severin Gadell, and Harry Gadell.
He was a member of American Legion.
Ed enjoyed riding his four wheeler, tractor, mechanics, hunting, and fishing.
Visitation will be 9-10 a.m. Saturday, December 4, 2021 at the Sts. Philip and James Church in River aux Vases.
A funeral for 97-year-old Edward R. Gadell of Hillsboro will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, December 4, 2021 at the Sts. Philip and James Church. The Rev. Edward Nemeth will officiate.
Burial will be at Sts. Philip and James Cemetery in River Aux Vases with military graveside services performed by VFW Post 2210.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Good Shepherd School in Hillsboro or to Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital in St. Louis.
