A funeral will be held Wednesday, November 24, 2021 for 86-year-old Ora B. Edwards of Sparta, Illinois, who passed away at 9:05 am, Sunday, November 21, 2021 at Randolph County Care Center, Sparta, Illinois.
He was born October 16, 1935 in Coulterville, Illinois, the son of Grover Cleveland and Annie Frances (nee Lowe) Edwards, who both preceded him in death.
Ora married Dorothy Krantz February 14, 1954 at Zion Lutheran Church; she preceded him in death on June 19, 2021.
He is survived by two children: Ronnie (Joanne) Edwards of Steeleville, Ill. and John (June) Edwards of Evansville, Ill.; three grandchildren: Travis Edwards, Kaitlin (Alex) Behnken and Olivia Edwards; a great granddaughter: Blake Behnken.
He was also preceded in death by 11 siblings: Vernon Edwards, Robert Edwards, Delmar Edwards, Grover Cleveland (Infancy), Fern Burris, Betty Lou Edwards, Hilda Edwards, Viola (Paul) Kocian, Dean (Anita) Edwards, Loyce (Dean) Knope and Daisy French
Ora was a coal miner for almost 25 years. He also owned and operated Ora’s Auto Body shop in Evansville, Illinois.
He was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Evansville, Illinois. He also served on the Randolph County Emergency Services Disaster Agency for 25 years.
Ora was an Army Veteran.
Visitation will be 9-11 a.m. Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Evansville.

Interment will be in the St. Peter’s Lutheran Cemetery in Evansville.
