Billie Ray Nickelson

A funeral will be held Tuesday, November 16, 2021 for 21-year-old Billie Ray Nickelson of Sainte Genevieve, Mo. who died Wednesday, November 10, 2021 in Ste. Genevieve County.

He was born October 7, 2000 in Festus, Mo., the son of Gregory D. Nickelson, who preceded him in death and Dawn (Jacob) Nickelson (Chuck Carron) who survives in Ste. Genevieve.

He is also survived by two sisters: Colleen Nickelson (Jared Naeger) of Sainte Genevieve and Emily Nickelson (Jeffrey Rumelhart) of Hillsboro; his grandmother: Emogene Nickelson of Ste. Genevieve; his grandfather: Ralph “Pete” Carron of Ste. Genevieve; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

He was also preceded in death by his grandfather: Billie Ray Nickelson; grandparents: Leon and Anna Jacob; an aunt: Cindy Nickelson; an uncle and Godfather: Russell Nickelson; an uncle: Mark Radford; and another uncle: Kirk Klein.

He was a member of Weingarten Volunteer Fire Department for eight years, Knights of Columbus 1037 Ste. Genevieve anf Weingarten Jaycees.

He was a welder for Roeslein Manufacturing in Red Bud, Ill.

He followed in his fathers footsteps and worked on cars in his spare time.

Billie enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing & camping with family and friends. He had a passion for dirt racing, helping with various pit crews.

Billie truly enjoyed helping with the Weingarten Volunteer Fire Department, responding to as many calls as he could to help others.

Billie lived life to fullest, he loved to spend time with family and friends and he will be missed by all who knew him.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Monday, November 15, 2021 and 8-10 a.m. Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at the Basler Funeral Home in Sainte Genevieve.

A funeral for 21-year-old Billie Ray Nickelson of Sainte Genevieve will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at the Basler Funeral Home. The Rev. Msgr. Jeffrey Knight will officiate.

Burial will be at Crestlawn Cemetery in Sainte Genevieve.

Memorials may be made to the Weingarten Volunteer Fire Department or to family use.
