Following Are Blunt’s Remarks:

“Missouri is home to more than 400,000 veterans who put their lives on the line to protect our freedom and keep us safe. America has the best military in the world because of the brave men and women who answered the call to serve.

“We owe them and their families a debt of gratitude for the countless sacrifices they made for us. It’s an honor to represent Missouri’s veterans and to work to support them and their families in any way I can, from helping veterans find good-paying jobs to providing them access to quality health care.

“This Congress, I’m proud to cosponsor both the Retired Pay Restoration Act and the Major Richard Star Act. Both of these bills will help us honor those who have made sacrifices in service to our nation by ensuring that combat-injured veterans receive the full benefits they’ve earned.

“Please join me in thanking our veterans in Missouri and across the country for their courage, their sacrifice, and their service.”
