Nationwide cyber-attack disrupts Chester city hall phones

CHESTER – The City of Chester, Illinois announced yesterday that a denial of service cyber-attack was launched on Bandwidth.com causing a disruption in phone calls and services mainly for landline phones – including the phones at Chester’s municipal building.

This disruption/cyber-attack is nationwide.

According to the city’s posting on social media “Our phone service company for city hall is working to move our service to another carrier. Keep in mind other businesses may be affected as well. We will update when we know more.”
